I live! Obviously. >>
Wasn't as bad as it could have been, Irene was pretty torn up by the time she got to us. So we got a bunch of rain and even more wind, but thankfully other then the loss of power not much happened for us.
I know of at least four people injured here during the storm, I don't know their names but my thoughts and well wishes go out to them and their families.

Oooh, pretty storm. o.o
Whooo, hurricane Irene is coming to get us! :O
While this could pose a lot of problems I prefer not to dwell on gloomy stuff. I do happen to think this is a bad name though. If you've seen the movie Black Hawk Down then you know why. "Irene" was the mission go word. A mission that went to hell in a hand basket faster then you can say "Oh shit". Here's hoping that things don't go to hell here.

More late randomness!
Ok, so I don't post much, but hey nobody is reading my blog anyway! ^_^
But to the point, I got a book the other day about the world wars. Quite the interesting read actually, it also clears up a common misconception about WWI.
Unlike WWII Germany didn't actually start the war, it was Austro-Hungry that did, they declared war on Serbia for refusing to take responsibility for the actions of a Serbian terrorist group(and they say terrorism is a new problem.) called The Black Hand. This group assassinated the Austro-Hungarian Archduke.
Germany who was allied with Austro-Hungry supported them with supplies and troops, how ever Serbia was allied with Russia, who was allied with France, who was allied with Britain, thus the chain was pulled and WWI began.

Merry Xmas! =^.^=
Hope you had a good holiday. ^^
Did you know that the holiday we call Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ? You did? Good. :)
But I'll wager you didn't know the Christ was born in March? :P
The Church moved the date of the celebration to co-inside with the Pagan Winter Solstice to encourage people to convert back in the early days of Christianity. :)

Gaming issues
I recently bought a game called Medieval II: Total war Gold Edition. It's the sequel to one of my favorite games, Rome: Total War Gold Edition. So far it seems very good, and it's a lot of fun, but with one draw back. For some reason battles lag at and extreme rate. :(
So far I've found a lot of possible reasons, so hopefully one of them prove to be it and I can fix it. ^^
